DTMR provides programs in the Fort Worth community including the Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Asian Music Symposium, The Fort Worth African American Roots Music Festival, and the Community Visiting Artist Educator Program.

Training and Consulting
We develop workshops and sessions and deliver to organizations, districts, colleges, and other groups, focusing in our antiracist and decolonization approaches and how to implement them in classroom and music making settings.
We also provide consultant services to individuals, groups, and organizations to take advantage of our expertise in antiracist and decolonizing approaches, cultural responsiveness, and research. Contact us for help with projects, events, camps, curriculum, and more. Contact us
Decolonizing the Music Room is located in Fort Worth, Texas which is the ancestral land of the Comanche, Kickapoo, and Wichita and Affiliated Tribes (Kitikiti'sh).
We acknowledge the original caretakers of this land, as well as their descendants and all Indigenous peoples who continue to make contributions to the land- past, present, and future. We honor the long history of Indigenous culture that has persisted for thousands of years, and recognize Indigenous ways of knowing that have been carried into the present.
We also acknowledge the forced, unpaid labor of enslaved Africans integral to the material, financial, and cultural construction of what today is known as the United States of America.
